New Work

I am currently exploring the addition of nichrome wire to my wheel thrown work. This high fire wire is inserted at the leather hard stage then fired in my gas kiln to 2300 degrees. This process adds dimensionality, texture and a mixed media effect. Continuing my quest for intriguing surfaces, I am working with layered Mason stains and trimming with a wire brush. My slip cast work continues to be inspired by found objects, poetry and the juxtaposing of seemingly disparate patterns, images and themes.
